Cinnamon Dolce Latte Syrup
Tis' the season for all things spiced, even your morning cup of joe. The Starbuck's Cinnamon Dolce Latte has been a favorite of mine for many years now, in fact I prefer it over a PSL any day. While the Starbuck's version is delicious, it's quite pricey, and I'm not the biggest fan of chemical additives. I've created the next best thing, and I think you'll agree once get a taste.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 1/2 cups Water
3 Cinnamon Sticks
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients except for the vanilla in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a light boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes. (If using a candy thermometer, allow the mixture to heat to approximately 230 F before reducing to a simmer).
2. Remove the syrup from heat and add the vanilla extract. Stir.
3. Remove the cinnamon sticks and allow the syrup to cool down before pouring into a jar.
*Add about a tsp-Tbsp of syrup to your cup of coffee or hot cider and drink up!
